Fic-writers during a Fest....

Here's a doodle I did about what fic-writers are like during a fest. This was based on a hilarious misunderstanding with the fabulous maccadole <3. I had asked about whether authors had to go stalk their own work while it was anonymous or if they recived notifications about comments on it. When she told me that they actually had to go stalk the work, I told her that I imagined everyone as little spies coming down from the ceiling to spy on a room full of people reading their fic, and trying to gauge everyone's reactions. Mac thought I said spiders, not spies. Thus, spider-spies were born. I felt inclined to doodle it, so I hope you all enjoy this! I apologize for the sloppiness and the fact that my handwriting looks like it belongs to an 8-year old girl.



Also, does this feel like an accurate depiction of what you guys do during a fest? I know it's certainly an accurate depiction of me as a reader (drinking tea and loving all the fic).

Ahhhhhh, gosh, I wonder if this is a widespread thing? It's amazing! Do you all bookmark them and go and look at them every few hours just in case? :D

Hahahaha, well as for me, I check every day or so? And when it's longer ago it posted, not so often anymore. A little bit like a kid sneaking downstairs to see whether there are new presents under the Christmas tree already... and sometimes not, but sometimes there are new ones :D

And widespread, I hoped it was, but I asked my compass in this life, shiftylinguini, and she's been laughing at me for ten minutes straight already :(

Aha, sorry for stopping you from sleepinnggggg! I think it's detention for Cali and I, we are not mature enough for LJ today LOL! And the drawing is fab, and it is fun to see a fic go up over night and then go and check to see if anyone loves you! :D

Ahaha, it's alright! I may have only gotten 4 hours of sleep last night, but it was worth it :D

:D Yeah, that's how it goes. I tend to prefer reading comments on the original post rather than in my email inbox anyway, so I would've done that either way. BUT tracking will come in handy in the future, when you start forgetting exactly where and when you had fics. Then the notifications can guide you back and keep you up to date.

Oh god. I even knew you could track comments, duh, although I've never felt the need to do that, so why didn't I think further ahead? Of course you can track it all. Dumb. :D
