Fic-writers during a Fest....
Here's a doodle I did about what fic-writers are like during a fest. This was based on a hilarious misunderstanding with the fabulous
maccadole <3. I had asked about whether authors had to go stalk their own work while it was anonymous or if they recived notifications about comments on it. When she told me that they actually had to go stalk the work, I told her that I imagined everyone as little spies coming down from the ceiling to spy on a room full of people reading their fic, and trying to gauge everyone's reactions. Mac thought I said spiders, not spies. Thus, spider-spies were born. I felt inclined to doodle it, so I hope you all enjoy this! I apologize for the sloppiness and the fact that my handwriting looks like it belongs to an 8-year old girl.

Also, does this feel like an accurate depiction of what you guys do during a fest? I know it's certainly an accurate depiction of me as a reader (drinking tea and loving all the fic).
Cheers, dears <3

But what's making me grin more, I admit, is

*stares into the void of her own life*
All I can say is,

(But also I did pin my posts immediately, not that there'll be many new comments since they posted long ago, but here's to closing the stable door long after the horse has bolted :D)

<333 This whole conversation is cracking me up. I also feel that my doodle is far less applicable than I was anticipating, but now every time I see it it's going to make me laugh

I'm not really tracking my stuff on LJ but am obsessed about ao3. Came from there and I love all its stats and notifications and comments. So yup, I live in my email as well. :D

Oh god, I'm mortified. HAHAH, especially when you specify that it's "the little pin at the top of each post" oh god, I knew THAT much, at least! *puts hands over face* leave me here to die of shame...

*Curls into a ball of humiliation*
What's wrong with us?

Oh god. I even knew you could track comments, duh, although I've never felt the need to do that, so why didn't I think further ahead? Of course you can track it all. Dumb. :D

Can I live wherever this is? Please. There's a fic-reading room! With a noticeboard of stuff, like fanart and upcoming fandom events. I mean, aah, it's like heaven. Look at everyone lounging about with their tech.
"Meow" indeed. :D :D :D

You and Cali should totally go to detention though. I mean seriously, y'all are such hooligans ;)
Glad you like the drawing though!

Hahah, I love how everyone is just attached their emails waiting for comments. I suppose I do the same thing now. Especially with messages, I'll just refresh my email 6 more times on the off-chance that I got a reply in the past 2 minutes since I last checked.

I want to live here too! A room with HP fanart on the walls, giant windows with endless views of the stars at night, tea, cats, comfy couches, and of course tons of lovely fic. <3 I could do without the giant spider coming down from the ceiling, if I'm best honest... but we both know that's it's a nice spider, so I will learn to deal with it.
I am glad you noticed the precarious teacup! I tend to be quite a careful person, but occasionally my tea does seem to end up in precarious locations like that.

First of all, I'm dying. This is legit my life every fest, even with tracking turned on. Although, I hate spiders, I have a terrible fear of them. But spider-spies? Okay, I can definitely get behind that. this little doodle is hilarious! The mask on the spy! <3 I also totally want to hang out in this room! Look at that perfectly organized notice board! :D

I am so glad you can actually relate to this!! My conversation with Mac was hilarious, so I was planning to draw spying-spider anyways, but then I thought I should relate it back to fest (since NGF was just finishing up). I actually hate spiders as well! I am petrified of them, but I tried to make mine as cute and harmless looking as possible. I mean look at him/her/them, they are getting to see all those people enjoy their fic! :D
Bahah, I am just so happy that you enjoyed this. When I read this comment, I just started cracking up and smiling.

I know you are scared of spiders, as am I, BUT you must go watch this video. It's hysterical and... I'll just let you see what I mean.

Thank you so much <3 :D
Fic with coffee/tea on the side is the best, right?
Hope you're doing well! (I adore your festive lounge-y icon)
